This large and complex renovation of Fletcher Allen’s Central Sterile Reprocessing Unit was realized over 13 phases and 14 months. The upgrade included a new cart-wash, sterilizers, sterilization system and a new elevator access. Additionally, a motorized rack storage system was installed to maximize space in the new CSR.
The renovation also added 4,000 sq. ft. of space, and reversed the direction of sterilization process while maintaining a sterile environment during every phase. To maintain this environment, specialized security systems with access cards were installed.
