With an influx of new employees, IBM needed technologically advanced office and meeting space for 300 people. Stewart Construction served as the general contractor for the renovations to a 60,000 square foot facility near IBM’s Essex Junction location.
The fast track project was completed in 14 weeks, with up to 125 workers on the site around the clock. Hour by hour scheduling and close field coordination enabled 14 trades to work on the building simultaneously.
The work included state of the art communications and security systems, as well as special construction required for research, design and testing. A full service commercial kitchen and dining area completed the renovation process. The general contract portion of the $9M project exceeded $4.4M.
