Converse Hall

UVM Converse Hall

Burlington, VT
Completed: August 2018

Gale Associates, Inc.

Constructed in 1895, Converse Hall has stood out as one of UVM’s most exceptional campus structures. Styled in the Collegiate Gothic/Victorian Eclectic Style, this six-story building is comprised of three connecting wings forming a u-shaped building with a courtyard at its center. Besides minor exterior modifications, the original West Rutland grey marble façade and slate roof have remained untouched over the last century. In close coordination with UVM Facilities and Development along with Gale Associates, we oversaw the year long project of renovating the exterior envelope of this beautiful building. Renovations included abating and replacing the original slate roof, as well as extensive removal and rebuild of the existing gothic gables and chimneys.
