Today the shingles for the roof were delivered and were brought in through the second floor on the northern staircase. The southern staircase is now being completed,  and we are continuing to work on the exterior of the building.

With the exterior framing mostly complete, we change focus to the interior framing and layout. We are also installing the roof and finishing the north side stairwell.

We are now placing the exterior and bearing walls of the third floor. The last photo is of the fourth floor deck framing going up.

We’ve come a long way in a month! The framing is well on its way to the second floor, and the frame of the stairwell goes up first.

We finished the foundation, and we are on to pouring the basement slab. We have to prep it before we pour, and as you can see in the second and third photos, we have to tent the area so that we can heat it enough to lay the concrete slab.

We continue pouring the foundation and work on the South entrance to the building. In the last picture, you can see the makeshift tent Harrison Concrete used as they get ready to pour in the frigid temperatures.

The job continues through cold temperatures and set backs. We’ve begun to pour concrete and lay the foundation for the building. The large pump truck is used to pump concrete into areas they can’t reach otherwise. It’s an interesting machine to watch!

We’re in the midst of setting the foundation for this project, and have struck water! As you can see, we’ve hit a drain that no one knew existed. This has pushed back construction while we resolve the issue. Construction is always an adventure!

Also, as you can see with the last photo, we have used a recycled fill made of used glass. Though environmentally friendly, it has proven more difficult to work with than typical fill.
