Renovation
Stewart Construction conducted renovations and upgrades to the two story, 130 year old schoolhouse. The first floor was constructed for swing meeting space, while the second floor will continue to be used for alternative education for Essex School District. Stewart Construction installed a new heating system and electrical service, and added a handicap accessible ramp to the front entrance. In addition to upgrading the interior doors and finishes, Stewart Construction refurbished existing windows, exterior trim, masonry foundation and walls, and slate roof. Other elements of the project included a new foundation perimeter drain, spray-on waterproofing, and structural upgrades in the basement.
