Bristol, VT
Truex Cullins & Partners, Architects
Renovation

Mt. Abraham Union Middle and High School hired Stewart Construction to build a 2,200 sq. ft. addition to the school. The addition houses a new wood chip boiler, equipment and chip storage bins. The new system will dramatically reduce the school’s heating costs as well as decrease emissions. This cleaner, more efficient heating system is currently used in 25 schools throughout Vermont. The project included extensive site work including a complete replacement of the school’s parking lot and the relocation of underground utilities.

See http://www.biomasscenter.org for more information on innovations in wood chip boiler technology.
